How does the A-Vision attachment extractor work.

The A-Vision attachment grabber reads all emails from an IMAP or POP3 email server, extracts and saves the selected attachments from the emails in a folder on your hard drive or server.

Change the configuration in the config.php file to your preferred settings for email server access and where to save the attachments. The software will automatically create a subfolder for each domain it received attachments from.

The settings show in the area below the header and can be changed for this session only.
The 'Files' setting is a comma separated list of extensions of which file types need to be extracted. When left empty all attachments will be extracted.
Deleting the emails after processing is for security reasons unselected by default. The 'Save email TXT content' selection will save a TXT file for each email with the text content of the email.

Filenaming is as follows -

  <repository>/<senderdomain>/<prefix><datestamp>_<msgno><attachmentno>.<extension>

For example:

  C:/TEMP/a-vision.co.nz/Attachment_20100522_001001.pdf
