HR Software package
We've developed a
web based NZ built and customised Human Resource Software Package,
especially focussed on small business use, which is firstly easy to use, flexible and very
cost effective. This HR Software Package allows each employee their own
specific access to their personal area. It is interactive in use and
brings outstanding features for HR, accounts, management as well as
staff.
Due to it's flexible set-up of system parameters it is possible to define for example system-wide settings like the HR email address or even set the Application name to what you would like to call it e.g. HR Kiosk, HRe Source, HR Center and many more. This again shows that it is the customer who decides how things will be used.
Recent changes
The HR Software package does now also have an integration facility with Windows Active Directory (AD) to synchronise user infrmation
but also do more.
For example for a specific customer we have implemented a way to control VPN1 access to their network using the HR Software,
when a request is done for 'Working from home' or 'Conference' staff can choose to request VPN access at the same time.
The manager can than decide whether VPN access will be allowed or not. If approved, then VPN access will automatically
be enabled for the requested period. No hassle enabling or remembering to disable VPN access!
Module based
The HR Package is module based which allows extension with a customised extension but also gives you the opportunity to only select the modules you need which makes it even more cost effective. The current available modules are :
HR Dashboard module
This is the core module for the HR Package and contains the employee details and allows a quick overview per additional modules.
For example it shows the available leave of the employee and an annual leave calculator (in case the leave module is installed).Employee management module
A built-in feature allows you to set specific access rights to each individual employee. This employee information does also hold the anniversary dates for Annual and Sick leave and the number of working hours per week for proper calculation of accrued and taken leave.Leave module
This module allows to control all leave within the company. By giving the employees access to specific areas (like leave request) there's no need for filling in paper forms for leave anymore.
There are a couple of modules which will be
developed shortly, these are :
HR documents
The first phase of this will be like a file-bucket accessible for everyone. On the dashboard it will give you quickly access to these files. Via a special interface HR (administrators) and management can add documents to this 'bucket'.
At a later stage this will be extended with some more advanced features.Employee file
This module will be using the same technology as the HR Documents module but will be have more possibilities in regards of restricting access and security as it will have the ability to hold sensitive and employee privacy documents.Message board
The message board module is a kind of interactive tool to be used for anyone in the company. It allows the user to add messages (depending on its rights) of several types. An example might be an internal vacancy to which staff can apply and comment on. It will also be possible to automatically get updates via email or RSS when messages are added to the board.
Dashboard module
The HR Package dashboard is a kind of quick access and/or overview to the different modules of the HR Package. This allows the users to easily see their personal status of a given module. Also depending on the modules it can contain a quick (limited) access to that module to perform certain functions.
Via the dashboard the users will also have access to the different modules by easily clicking on the links in the module overview. Currently it shows the active user on the left hand to with links to change your access password and logout.
In the shown example it show the overview of the personal leave status and an annual leave calculator to quickly check what your available annual leave will be at a certain date and what it will be would you take leave.
Leave module
The leave module takes care of all leave within the company which can easily be controlled by HR, accounts and management. The process (in short) is as follows:
An employee fills in a leave request using the leave module.
Automatically an email is sent to the direct manager, HR and management with a copy sent to the employee.
One of the recipients (direct manager, HR or management) then opens the request (either by clicking the link in the email or through a report in the leave module) and approves the requested leave.
Again an email is sent to the employee with a copy to HR, direct manager, management and accounts (to keep track of taken leave) to inform the the request has been approved.
Most likely the employee won't show up on the requested days and might you have forgotten why someone is not present, just check out the leave module which clearly will show an overview of all leave on a certain date.
Access to functions within the leave module depends on the individual user rights, for example management can access unlimited history while employees can only access 3 months of history (or 12 months for their personal leave history). There is a lot more functionality of course but for a total overview please request a DEMO CD or have a look at the manager manual.
HR Documents module
Currently only HR and management can add documents using the HR Documents module. However, everyone can see the added HR Documents on the dashboard 'file bucket'. This module however will be the base for all document related modules of the HR Software package.
Benefits
It is clear that web based applications have proper benefits above desktop applications, it is easier to maintain, more flexible in regards of customisation and very cost effective. But next of all that there are more benefits using the HR Software package.
